Motivation to lie

Those who join MLM company do so for very specific reasons.

Some become fed up with where they are in life.

Others are tired of the rat race and are attracted by the idea of not being tied down to a 9-5.

Many are drawn towards the idea of earning residual income allowing them to stop living pay check to pay check.

What all these people have in common is they saw their companies 'business opportunity' as a way out of their current situation.

With so much hope pinned on what this new venture could provide them, it should not come as a surprise that they would do almost anything to make it happen.

The truth

It's common practice for distributors to lie to their friends and family about their companies products to make a sell. Many exaggerate the results, make false claims and frankly over-hype the product.

Is this morally or ethically right?

Probably notIs it understandable?

Well kind of…

Distributors core motivation to start a business is to create a better future for them and their family, therefore, telling a few lies is seen as 'necessary collateral'.

“You need to break a few eggs to make an omelette”

Is a common mantra used by many upline leaders.

"TV & mass ad campaigns lie to us all every day, it just the way it works"

How They lie

Independent Distributors do this on auto pilot as their companies training has conditioned them to convince their friends and family that they NEED their product.

During weekly meetings, the companies leadership (upline) trains their distributors to present their product as the best & only solution for their friends & family problem.

For example, distributors will inform family that their companies meal replacement shake can relieve stress, stop them losing hair, have a deeper sleep & lose weight amongst a long list of other common alignments.

I too was taught this approach from my upline but lying to friends and family just didn't sit well with me. Yes I wanted to escape the rat race but my integrity wouldn’t allow me to exploit my friends and family.

Moral & financial high ground

My fortunes changed when strangers started contacting me on Facebook and Instagram asking me to buy my product. I started using my social media to attract individuals who were ideal customers for my companies products.
