How I lost 20kg In Under 100days
Two days after 'the incident' happened I entered the Miami Pro Fitness Model Championship. As what's more motivating to get in shape than having to stand in your pants infront a room full of strangers !
For the past 8 years I had been a regular gym go-er, my weight would always fluctuate a few pounds but I never got close to the weight or look I wanted.
Understanding that what you ate was a key component, I tried a wide range of diets from Atkins to high protein and everything in between !
Initially, I would see results but fast forward a few weeks and I would be back to the same weight or even more than when I started...
I found that though these diets worked at first, after a few weeks I would go back to my normal eating as i would feel low on energy, hungry all the time and bored.
I never saw myself as 'fat' or 'overweight', just someone who could stand to lose a few pounds and that mentality made it easier to quit these restrictive plans.
The Incident ...
When out shopping to replace some jeans that had 'shrunk in the wash’ I went to River Island, my normal go to jean shop for the last 10 years.
I have always been a size 32 but over the last 9 months I had slowly crept up to a 36.... I grabbed a pair of black straight leg in a 36 to try on which I wasn't able to get passed my thighs...
I asked the staff if they could grab me a pair in 38 or 40 wasit to try on. The shop assistant exchanged an awkward look with her colleague and replied that the company don’t make jeans in that size and that maybe M&S or Primark jeans would be catered towards my 'shape'.
I was absolutely speechless.
That was my moment and I knew things had to change.
The game changer...
After 'the incident’ i went online where I trawled through loads of different weight loss supplements, fitness articles and fitness plans some were semi useful most weren't. I eventually stumbled across Benevita , a wellness brand with products that promote weight management and healthy living.
I really liked the company’s focus on a healthy, balanced lifestyle rather than a short term fix, which gave me confidence that this was something I could stick with and easily incorporate into my day to day life .
1000 mile journey starts with 1 step...
I started my journey on the 4th January 2016- giving myself 15 weeks to transform my body to one where I could stand on stage and compete with people who had been training for years, no easy task!
I knew I couldn't do it alone and enlisted the help of my good friend PhilIp K, founder of the Tech Nutrition Company Scanbite & Personal Trainer. The first step was a Personal Wellness Assessment to understand where I was and the areas I needed to target.
We got to work overhauling my daily routines and replacing them with better, sustainable habits. My previous snack filled diet was replaced with fresh veg, lean protein and Benevita and I moved from unfocused exercises to HITT and compressed weight sessions through the week.
In just 15 weeks I managed to lose 22kg while building lean muscles.

3 KEY rules...
This journey wasn’t easy but it was achievable by following 3 key rules.
If you want to lose weight, tone up or completely transform your body then you need to:
- Stay Consistent
- Beleive in yourself & your goal
- Surround yourself with like minded people for motivation & support
Stick to the task at hand and don’t deviate, its important that your eating and exercise becomes part of your routine. When it is you are a lot less likely to fall off the wagon.
it is important to keep your end goal in mind at all times. When you have those days where you just want to eat ice cream all day just remember why you started in first place.
I was lucky to have the support of Phillip, Benevita family and girlfriend- all of them supported and encouraged me throughout my journey and helped me make it to the finish line.
